THE STORY BEHIND UP'N DOWN

“As a student to become a police officer, one of my courses required us to complete a total of 25 hours of volunteer work or community involvement. I chose the second option. I chose to get involved with Ely, a 15-year-old boy with Down Syndrome. During my adventure, not only did I learn about Ely as and an exceptional, brilliant and endearing individual, but I alson had the chance to learn more about Down Syndrome. I think that the vast majority of us are ignorant about it, to such an extent that some people look at those with it as if they were strangers. My experience with Ely made me realize that a person with Down Syndrome is not so different. Their remarkable intelligence and contagious joy make them people we should be inspired by, not laughed at.

The idea of creating UP'N DOWN company came to me with a view to raising awareness of this syndrome and taking another step towards normalizing and respecting human diversity. In every logo that we've created, we've integrated the Down Syndrome logo. So, while being stylish and comfortable, every person who wears UP'N DOWN clothing will represent the syndrome. Finally, UP'N DOWN is committed to donating $2 to $5 per item sold to the Regroupement pour la Trisomie 21 (Down Syndrome organization) to support the extraordinary services offered by the organization.

Thank you for being part of the change, one step at a time. »
